The National Institute of Rock Mechanics has notified a Vacancy Notice for the following posts vide its Advertisement No: Advt/01.2016-17 dated 1st July 2016.

The Details of vacancies, Scale of Pay and qualifications required for the posts are given near each post.

(1) SCIENTIST-VI .. 1 Post (UR)
Scale of Pay :PB-4 (Rs.37,400-67,000) Grade Pay Rs.10000
Qualifications (Essential) : (a) 1st Class Degree in Mining/Civil Engg. or M.Sc (Geophysics/Geology); (b) Ph.D in the area of Rock Mechanics; and (c) 18 years of relevant experience in Research/Teaching/Industry with original work in Rock Mechanics supported by patents/publications.
Desirable : 10 years of R & D experience in responsible positions.
Age : Up to 55 years as on 1st October 2016.

(2) SCIENTIST-V .. 1 Post (UR)
Scale of Pay :PB-4 (Rs.37,400-67,000) Grade Pay Rs.8900
Qualifications (Essential) : (a) 1st Class Degree in Mining/Civil Engg. or M.Sc. (Geophysics/Geology);    (b) Post Graduate qualifications in Rock Mechanics; and (c)15 years of relevant experience in Research/ Teaching/Industry with original work in Rock Mechanics as evidenced by patents/publications.
Desirable : Ph.D in the area of Rock Mechanics; 10 years of R & D experience in responsible positions.
Age : Up to 50 years as on 1st October 2016.

(3) SCIENTIST-II .. 5 Posts (UR-3 & OBC-2)
Scale of Pay :PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.6600
Qualifications (Essential) : 1st class Degree in Mining/Civil Engg./ 1st Class M.Sc in Geology/ Geophysics/Electronics with 6 years of relevant experience.
Desirable : M.Tech/ME in the concerned subject with 4 years of relevant experience/ Ph.D.(Sci) with 2 years of relevant experience/ Ph.D. (Engg)
Age : Up to 40 years as on 1st October 2016.

(4) SCIENTIST-I .. 2 Posts (UR-2)
Scale of Pay :PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.5400
Qualifications (essential) : 1st class Degree in Mining/Civil/ Mechanical/Electronics & Communication Engg./ 1st Class M.Sc in Geophysics/Geology.
Desirable : M.Tech/ME in the concerned subject
Age : Up to 30 years as on 1st October 2016.

(5) SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT-I .. 7 Post (UR-6 & ST-1)
Scale of Pay : PB-1 (Rs.5,200-20,200) Grade Pay Rs.2400
Qualifications : B.Sc (PCM) / Diploma in Mining/Mechanical/ Electronics Instrumentation Engineering/Technology of three years full time duration or its equivalent from a recognized Technical Board/University
Age : Up to 28 years as on 1st October 2016

(6) JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW - 1 Post (UR) - 2 years term
Consolidated Pay : 16,000/- pm + HRA (will be revised as per DST)
Qualifications : 1st class M.Sc/M.Sc(Tech) in Geophysics/ B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics/Instrumentation. Experience /training in seismic data processing will be preferred.
Age : Up to 28 years as on 1st October 2016.

(7) FINANCE & ACCOUNTS OFFICER .. 1 Post (OBC)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.5400
Qualifications : Must be a Graduate with ACA/ICWA/SAS Qualification with 10 years experience out of which at least 2 years of work experience in accounting in a responsible position in Govt. departments./ Organizations. The applicant should have experience in computerized environment, be conversant in Tally software, as well as be well versed in Govt. rules & regulations.
Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st October 2016.

(8) ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER .. 1 Post (OBC)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.5400
Qualifications : A Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University with 12 years experience of work related to establishment/ administration in a Government Department or organisation of repute in a supervisory capacity and should have experience in computerized environment, be well versed in Govt Rules & Regulations.
Desirable : MBA / LLB (or) Diploma in Personnel Management
Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st October 2016.

(9) OFFICE ASSISTANT-I .. 1 Post (UR)
Scale of Pay : PB-1 (Rs.5,200-20,200) Grade Pay Rs.2,400
Qualifications : (a) Must be a Graduate and be able to type 40 wpm in English/Hindi. (b) Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in General Administration/ Accounts.
Age : Up to 28 years as on 1st October 2016.

(10) OFFICE ASSISTANT-I (HINDI) .. 1 Post (Reserved for Person with Disability-Orthopaedically handicapped)
Scale of Pay : PB-1 (Rs.5,200-20,200) Grade Pay Rs.2,400
Qualifications : (a) Must be a Graduate and be able to type 40 wpm in Hindi, and (b) Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in Hindi typing.
Age : Up to 28 years as on 1st October 2016.

(11) LABORATORY ASSISTANT-I .. 2 Post (UR-1 & OBC-1)
